It is Western Days Ministries goal to bring the Good News of the Gospel to the people who need it most - the lost, the broken, the hurting. Our events are not meant to be feel good church events. They are designed to bring communities together. They are purposed to reach out and gather the "one."
When we bring a bullriding event to a community, yes, we want to bring them a great evening of family friendly entertainment. But, our #1 priority is seeing souls found and brought into relationship with our Saviour Jesus Christ. Every event is centered on this goal. Every event is an opportunity for communites to gather their "strays," to really be the capital "C" Church.
Ronnie Sowle was a cowboy of all cowboys. He had won numerous championships throughout his rodeo career. Ronnie was a very good cowboy at both ends of the rodeo arena. Though he loved all aspects of the sport of rodeo his heart and soul was always in bull riding.
An attitude of always being able to ride the unridable led to Ronnie's success. Always willing to help a young person starting out, or a veteran struggling, his instruction was invaluable. He came to the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ before he passed unexpectedly, 3 weeks
before he said, " I wish I would have thanked the Lord more when I was young and competing." Ronnie knew that his success and talents weren't his but a God given talent. Ronnie had committed to reading a chapter at day in his Cowboys For Christ Bible. We hope and pray that you will find salvation just Ronnie did, and challenge you to read a chapter a day. That is the Ronnie Sowle challenge.
Jesus said to him, " I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through Me."
John 14:6
